IMPROVATORIUM began as a series of classes for improvisational actors who wanted to explore doing extended narrative improvisation in various film and theatre styles.

In the summer of 2008 we presented “L.A. Extemporential,” a film noir inspired hour long improvised show.

In early 2009 we brought you NOIR TOWN and NO PLACE LIKE ROME, an improvised double feature of Film Noir and Roman Epic.

For Summer 2009 we debuted DEATH, LIES & ALIBIS! Improvised Agatha Christie.

In 2010 we unleashed Zombiénce!  An improvised Zombie musical!

Our first semi scripted effort resulted in “The Zombie Holiday Special” which played to sold out houses in December 201o.  And it comes back expanded and improved in December 2011!  More gore. More holly.

NOW PLAYING – “HITCHCOCKED” – Our “improvised slap in the face” at the much lionized master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock. Saturdays at 8pm in the Asylum Lab through the end of May.  Tickets $20.00. Available via plays411.com.

Come check out one of our shows and see why IMPROVATORIUM is quickly becoming an improv destination for study and performance.
